This Blog is about the Finger Lakes region of New
York state and its Fabulous Wineries and Wines. This blog is dedicated to all of
us Weekend Wino's who just want a Good Bottle of Wine at a Good Price. That is
what led my wife and I to the Finger Lakes many years ago. We fell in love with
the beauty of the area, and the wines and wineries. I hope you enjoy my
ramblings and I welcome all comments and hope to learn from your feedback.Email

Les carnets de François Audouze
I have created a gallery with pictures of bottles, with one gallery per year, which begins in 1780. I have put one tenth of what I intend to put, but nearly 100 years of wines have already pictures (nearly exclusively of my cellar, or drunk by me). PLEASE CLICK ON ME TO VIEW MR. Land Values on the warmer sites along Seneca and Cayuga Lakes are expected to rise."
Due to the high price of land in Long Island , if you can find it without development rights $40,000 to $75,000 per acre. Now without restrictions it's going for over $150,000 per acre.
The Finger Lakes Vineyard land on the warmer side of Lake Seneca is selling for in 2003 $7,700 per acre unplanted unimproved property. On rt.414, the main strip you can't find land left with highway frontage. The land is being bought for housing and this is also driving up the price of the vineyard land.
I can see in a few years Finger Lake vineyard land unplanted will sell for $25,000 to $50,000 per acre. This would value Silver Springs Winery L.L.C. land at $2.5 million to 5 million for the land due to it's location.
Compare Napa & Sonoma County Acreage Sales Statistics Since 1960
Land per acre.
1960 $2,000 $3,000 1970 $5,000 $7,500 1980 $11,000 $23,750 1990 $41,500 $67,500 2000 $80,000 $125,000 2001 $125,000 $150,000
